The Independent Living Project
Digital Guardian infrastructure that augments care for autistic and neurodivergent adults through objective in-home monitoring, evidence-based prompts, and a privacy-first edge AI design.

We are building a Digital Guardian infrastructure that helps neurodivergent individuals live more independently without relying on scarce Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Our system augments human care with always-on, AI-driven assistance that is safe, respectful, and scalable.
By combining objective in-home sensing, evidence-based prompts and interventions, and a privacy-first architecture, we support daily routines, reduce risk, and increase autonomy while preserving dignity and control.
Monitoring & Engagement
Acts as a Digital Companion using atypical speech recognition for communication and routine building. Our Human-in-the-Loop model ensures a seamless real-time connection to a remote tutor whenever professional intervention is required.
Evidence-Based Methodology
Interventions grounded in evidence-based practices (EBP), co-designed with world-class clinicians and self-advocates. We transform clinical standards into digital protocols, enabling high-quality professional oversight.
Privacy-First Infrastructure
High-performance "On-Device" computing ensures all analysis stays local for absolute privacy. The system is being developed to align with global standards including HIPAA, GDPR, and the EU AI Act.
